L.I.F.E. Hacks: events in Moscow during dead week – Argonaut
The last few weeks of the semester can put students in a time crunch and are as stressful as ever. Especially during dead week, students may feel like their liveliness has been sucked out of them. Thankfully, Moscow has events all over town that can help with dead week dread. Here are a few events this week to relax, de-stress and take your mind off the end of semester stresses.
De-Stress Fest | Monday – Friday

De-stress with De-Stress Fest this week. There will be all sorts of activities during the week to enjoy. These events range from yoga, petting service animals, games and information about health services on campus. Come relax and participate in events this week. See the event page to look for specific events and locations.
Saxophone Quartet Holiday Jams | Tuesday
- Time: 7 p.m.
- Date: Tuesday
- Place: One World Cafe
- Price: Free
Who doesn’t like live music and a bit of holiday cheer? Support Moscow’s musicians this week at One World Cafe. There is nothing better than sitting back with a drink and listening to music. Come enjoy some live music and grab a drink.
UI Drop-in Mindfulness | Wednesday
- Time: 12:00 – 12:20 p.m.
- Date: Wednesday
- Place: Teaching and Learning Center Room 047
- Price: Free
Dr. Jamie Derrick is holding a free mindful meditation this Wednesday, as well as every Wednesday. Anyone is welcome to drop in during the meditation. Come de-stress during a mindful meditation session during dead week, it will be time well spent.
Tasteful Thursdays | Thursday

- Place: Moscow Food Co-op
- Price: Free
The Moscow Food Co-op is hosting a tasty event this Thursday. Test flavors to quench your palate at this week’s Tasteful Thursday. Vendors around Moscow will be at the Co-op for enjoyment. Bring an empty stomach and an appetite for new flavors.
Shimmy on the Down December

- Place: One World Cafe
- Price: Free
Shimmy down this Saturday at One World Cafe. Cathrine, LadyWolf, RebL and Sunniva will provide a special performance to keep the night young. Come support the local dance community and have a good time. It will be a night filled with dancing, coffee and snacks.
