Xbox Live WARNING: Last chance to download Gold Xbox One free game bonuses – Express
Great news for Xbox One gamers this week following Microsoft making it possible to play three games for free.
But time is running out to test the latest Xbox Live trials from the Microsoft Store.
Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download The Division 2, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, and Stellaris: Console Edition at no extra charge.
This new Free Play Days deal was revealed earlier this week and is available now. And not only do you have full access to all three base games but they are also discounted during the free trial.
There’s currently 65% off The Division 2, 20% off Age of Wonders: Planetfall, and 30% off Stellaris: Console Edition.
That’s without mentioning that all three are relatively new games that landed on Xbox One earlier this year.
The best bit of the deal is that if you go on to buy the full version of any three, you get to keep your Gamerscore and achievements earned in-game.
But as mentioned above, there isn’t a huge amount of time left to download each game and play it.
Microsoft confirms that this trial is running until October 20 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. For gamers in the UK, this will mean closer to 8:59am, BST.
As usual, an Xbox Live Gold membership, or a bundle that includes it, will be needed to access these free games.
Each game offers something a little different, from The Division’s tense cover battles across Washington DC, to Planetfall’s Cyborgs vs Dinosaurs escapades.
“Age of Wonders: Planetfall is the new strategy game from Triumph Studios that answers ancient questions – like, who would win in a war between dinosaur-riding warriors and cyborg-zombies?” a new blog post from Microsoft asks.
“Find out for yourself in the all-new, sci-fi setting that combines exciting tactical turn-based combat with in-depth empire building. Pick from one of six unique factions and fight, build, negotiate, and technologically advance your way to world domination.”
Meanwhile, Stellaris allows you to build a galactic empire while having to deal with alien races and their own agendas.
Any of these titles would make a great way to kill some spare time, and they all offer a lot of content to explore.
And the added incentive of exploring The Division 2 this weekend is that Ubisoft has just added brand new content to the game.
Some of this will unlock on October 22, meaning not everyone will get to check out the new missions.
“Episode 2 takes you to the Pentagon, where the fight continues in solving the ongoing outbreak crisis in Washington D.C,” a message from Ubisoft explains.
“As Agents, you’ll encounter two new main missions set in and underneath the landmark building.
“After a Division Agent discovers the existence of a perfusion bioreactor – a device capable of replicating a potentially life-saving antivirus – players must fight their way through the flooded, Black Tusk-occupied area around the Pentagon to secure a safe house.
“It is up to Agents to secure the bioreactor – and with it, all hope – before it falls into the hands of the Black Tusk.
“From there, the first new main mission, Pentagon, will take players into the building itself, where they’ll battle through Black Tusk forces to find the entrance to an underground laboratory.”
Xbox Live Gold members can also claim the newest Games with Gold title for October, with Friday the 13th now available to download on Xbox One.
