Bull or No Bull: We test out three life hacks with toothpaste, a rubber band and a tennis ball – ABC15 Arizona

When you Google “life hacks”, you can find so many tricks that are supposed to make your life easier. But, how many of them actually work? We tested a few to see if they are Bull or No Bull!

LIFE HACK #1: TOOTHPASTE TO FILL HOLES IN THE WALL

Have you taken your hanging frames off the wall and realized that you really nailed it… too many times? In some cases, your wall is full of holes. We heard that toothpaste could solve the problem. That is, if it works.

We grabbed a white-colored toothpaste to match the color of the wall. We squeezed out a dollop, scraped the excess off and let it dry. We only waited about an hour, and though it probably wasn’t long enough, it still worked to re-hang our frame.

LIFE HACK #2: RUBBER BAND TO UNDO A STRIPPED SCREW

Have you ever worked on a DIY project and realized you really screwed it up? (Cue the rim shot) When you accidentally strip a screw, it can be difficult and sometimes impossible to undo.

Supposedly, if you take a thick rubber band and a hand screwdriver, you should be able to solve the problem and unscrew it. We put the rubber band in place and applied pressure to twist the screwdriver. But, nothing happened. It was stuck, and we were out of luck.

LIFE HACK #3: TENNIS BALL FOR SCUFFS ON THE FLOOR

Do you have scuffs all over the floor? Apparently, you can get rid of them with a tennis ball and a broom.

Cut the ball and attach it to the opposite end of the broom stick. Rub it across the marks on the floor. We tried it on tile, and it kind of worked on light scuffs, but it could not erase the dark ones. We tested this out several times all over the floor, but the results were the same. Someone clearly left their mark!
